Welcome to the home of the 25th annual Carefirst Young at Heart Charity Gala. This signature fundraising event is an opportunity to support the meaningful work that Carefirst has been doing for over four decades, as well as to celebrating our 45th anniversary in serving our community.
Although we cannot physically come together this year for the annual signature fundraising event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that you can join us online to celebrate our successes. The 25th Carefirst Young at Heart Gala will be hosted through a hybrid format on-line, providing a safe and easy access for guests and supporters to join us from all over the country, conveniently in the comfort of their own homes.
Carefirst is very pleased that in November 2020, Carefirst’s application to develop a “21st century Campus of Care” at 9893 Leslie Street, Richmond Hill, is approved by the Ministry of Long-Term Care.
All proceeds from this event will help support the construction and development of Carefirst Campus of Care which will increase access to long-term care and make an incredible impact for seniors’ wellbeing in our community. The Campus of Care will consist of a 120-bed long-term care home; a community hub with an elderly persons centre; a gymnasium; a community kitchen/cafeteria; and a family plus specialist-practice medical centre that will serve more than 10,000 patients each year.
The Campus is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024. Our goal is to raise $7.5 million to support the construction of the $70 million capital project.
The event will include charity performances, flexible gourmet meals to be enjoyed at home or in-person dining if permitted, prizes, charity shop and more! Carefirst and its staff are excited to celebrate its successes with you!
